A Simple Meal, A Lasting Impact: InfoConnect’s Long-Standing Support for A Meal A Day (AMAD) Program 2026 at SJK(C) Jinjang Selatan and SJK(T) Kampung Pandan

More Than Just a Meal: InfoConnect’s Continued Support for the A Meal A Day Programme

22nd September 2026

At InfoConnect, giving back to the community has always been an important part of who we are. For many years, we have been supporting the A Meal A Day (AMAD) programme together with the Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur (Host), helping provide nutritious meals to students who need them most.

Over the years, our visits to participating schools have given us the opportunity to see firsthand just how meaningful a simple meal can be to a child. It’s been a special privilege to meet with all of the students involved in this program.

A Growing Need in Our Schools

During our recent visit to two schools in Kuala Lumpur,  SJK(C) Jinjang Selatan and SJK(T) Kampung Pandan, we were told that more students are now coming from B40 households and families facing financial difficulties. As the number of students in need continues to grow, so does the importance of programs like AMAD.

For some of these students, their families may be facing challenging circumstances, including being raised by a single parent, having several siblings to support, or simply struggling to make ends meet from day to day.

These are circumstances that no child chooses, and it can be heartbreaking to know that something as basic as a nutritious meal may not always be guaranteed at home.

Hearing about the growing need reminded us why continued support matters. As part of our long-standing commitment to AMAD, we were more than happy to assure the schools that InfoConnect will do what we can to continue supporting the programme and the students who depend on it.

More Than Just a Meal

While the programme provides something as fundamental as food, its impact goes beyond filling a hungry stomach.

We learned that students who received support through AMAD tend to show better school attendance, greater participation in after-school activities, and a more positive and enjoyable experience at school.

It is a wonderful reminder that when children have their basic needs taken care of, they are better able to focus on learning, participate with their friends, and simply enjoy being children.

A meal may seem like a small thing, but for a growing child, it can provide the energy and comfort they need to get through the school day with a smile.

Welcomed With Smiles

One of the most heartwarming parts of our visits was meeting the students themselves.

Despite the challenges most of them may face, the students were incredibly warm, cheerful and grateful to welcome the visiting companies and representatives. Their smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to greet us made the visits especially memorable. The interaction with our team was as superb, as if communicating with our own friends.

The visiting representatives from the company were also treated by a special performance by the students of SJK(C) Jinjang Selatan where the teachers, the unsung heroes of the program, helped arrange with the students. Some students were also given small gifts to bring home, adding another little moment of happiness to their day.

These simple interactions reminded us that sometimes, the smallest gestures can mean so much.

A Reminder to Appreciate What We Have

Our involvement in AMAD is not only about giving back. Every visit also gives us an opportunity to reflect on our own lives and appreciate the things that we may sometimes take for granted.

Having a warm meal waiting for us at home. Being able to eat until we are full. Having the energy to go to school, participate in activities and spend time with friends.

For many of us, these are everyday experiences that we rarely stop to think about.

But for a child facing financial hardship, troubles at home, having a nutritious meal at school can make a meaningful difference.

That is why we are grateful to be part of the A Meal A Day program and to continue supporting the schools and students who need it.

Small Acts, Meaningful Difference

Our journey with the Lion’s Club of Kuala Lumpur’s AMAD program is a long-standing CSR commitment, and we hope to continue playing our part for years to come.

There is no single solution to the challenges faced by families in need. But through initiatives like AMAD, we can help ease one small part of that burden and give children the opportunity to learn, grow and enjoy their time in school.

At the end of each visit, we leave with something more than the satisfaction of having contributed. We leave with a renewed appreciation for what we have—and a reminder that sometimes, making a difference begins with something as simple as making sure a child has a meal.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Lions Club of KL for the opportunity and to the teachers in the participating schools for their efforts in making sure the future leaders of our countries are in safe hands! 💛
